Dear colleagues,

we are pleased to announce the 14th ISE Satellite Student Regional Symposium on Electrochemistry, which will take place on Friday, June 27, 2025 in Zagreb, Croatia.

The aim of this one-day meeting is to give graduate and PhD students the opportunity to present their work in the various fields of electrochemistry and electrochemical engineering in a friendly atmosphere. Gift bags, coffee and lunch will be provided for all participants. Based on the votes of the audience, the three best presentations will be announced and awarded prizes!

Registrations are open until May 15, 2025 and participation in the symposium is free of charge. Students can present their work in the form of oral presentations. Further information can be found here.

The ISE Satellite Student Regional Symposium on Electrochemistry is an annual one-day event where PhD and Master’s students from Croatia and other countries in the region present their work in the field of electrochemistry and electrochemical engineering. The topics of the Symposium are analytical, physical and environmental electrochemistry, electrochemical material science and electrochemical energy storage.

The main aim of the Symposium is for students to gain experience of presenting their work in a friendly atmosphere, exchange knowledge and ideas and network with other students in their field.

About the Symposium

The Symposium is sponsored by the International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE) as a Regional Student Meeting. It has been held annually in Zagreb (Croatia) since 2011, usually in the early summer months. Reports from previous years can be found on the ISE website.

In order to give more students and young researchers the opportunity to participate, registration is free of charge.

ISE's activities include organizing meetings of electrochemists from academia and industry (one large interdisciplinary congress per year and one smaller congress dealing with a narrower topic of particular importance), sponsoring other international meetings related to electrochemistry (a considerable number per year), publishing the scientific journal Electrochimica Acta, and awarding prizes for outstanding contributions to electrochemical science and technology.

The ISE was founded in 1949 by several European and American experts who recognized the growing needs of electrochemistry as a modern scientific discipline. Since then, the association has evolved and today comprises about 3000 Individual Members and more than 20 Corporate Members (teaching institutions, non-profit research organizations and learned societies) as well as Corporate Sustaining Members (industrial and commercial organizations).

About ISE

The International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE) is a worldwide non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of electrochemical science and technology, the dissemination of scientific and technological knowledge, the promotion of international cooperation in electrochemistry, and the maintenance of high professional standards among its members.

The ISE is headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland, and its members come from more than 70 countries on five continents, which is why the membership is divided into more than 40 regional sections. The regional representative for Croatia is Nadica Ivošević DeNardis, Ph.D., from the Ruđer Bošković Institute in Zagreb.
